Who can volunteer at Ann's Heart?
Short answer: EVERYONE!
Every volunteer brings their energy and enthusiasm to our programs. From spending time serving coffee at the Center for Emergency Resources at Ann's Heart (CERAH) to preparing meals for our Pay It Forward Cafe program - there is a place for everyone here. While there are some opportunities that are not appropriate for children, we do offer opportunities for youth and families!

Types of Volunteer Opportunities
At the HEART Kitchen
Individuals, families, and groups can volunteer at the HEART Kitchen. Opportunities range from meal preparation to distribution, organizing to cleaning. Cooking experience is not necessary.

Because the HEART Kitchen is a commercially licensed kitchen through the Chester County Health Department, cooking and food preparation opportunities are only available to volunteers ages 16 and up.

Youth volunteers are welcome to help with packaging, distribution, organizing, and other tasks.
At CERAH
Out of respect for the anonymity of our guests and the nature of volunteering at a shelter, volunteer opportunities are limited to those who are approved by our CERAH team.

Volunteers must:
• Submit their background clearances (including State Criminal Record and Child Abuse Clearances)
• Meet with CERAH team leadership to learn more about the opportunity and undergo a short training
• Be over the age of 18

If you are interested in supporting CERAH, please EMAIL US to inquire about next steps.
At the HEART Campus, Events & Community Outreach
Individuals, families, and groups can volunteer for a range of opportunities at Ann's Heart events, at community events as an organization representative, or supporting our nonprofit partners.

Examples of activities include:
• Staffing a table at a community event, helping to share information about our organization, engaging community members and creating crafts
• Staffing or helping to set up / clean up Ann's Heart fundraising events
• Participating in grounds clean up or garden activities at the HEART Campus

These activities are great for individuals and families of all ages!
We do our best to ensure opportunities specify those that are best for youth and/or adults. All minors (ages 18 or younger) must be accompanied by a responsible adult or chaperon. Please feel free to EMAIL US with any questions and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
